Return to topJeff was born and raised in Orlando, Florida; he began his professional career there working at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center. In 1983 he graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in Saxophone Performance, and then moved to Texas and received his Masters Degree from the University of North Texas in Jazz Studies. While there, Jeff was granted a teaching fellowship and also toured and recorded with the famed “1:00 Lab Band”.
After graduation in 1986, he was hired by Royal Viking Cruise Line and spent two years traveling around the world while performing nightly aboard a luxury cruise ship. He now resides in Dallas where he teaches at University of Texas Dallas and stays in demand as a freelance performer/contractor.
Jeff's versatility with different musical styles has led him to a wide variety of work, including everything from Dallas Wind Symphony performances and studio jingle sessions, to shows with Natalie Cole, Bernadette Peters, The Temptations or Harry Connick, Jr., to going on the road with rhythm and blues horn band “Tower of Power”. In the nineties he spent time touring Europe and recording with legendary blues guitarist Albert Collins. More recently, Jeff can be heard on recordings by Don Henley and smooth jazz group “Pieces of a Dream”.
